Damian K. Tamre (BSc, MBACP)               Counselling and Psychotherapy in Central London

I trained as a counsellor at Thames Valley University in London and started my counselling career in 2007 at Waltham Forest Mind - the agency offering short-term counselling to clients from very diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. In 2008 I started working for Ealing Abbey Counselling Service in West London, and at the same time
I also started seeing clients privately.

I moved to London six years ago, originally I come from Estonia, a small and beautiful Nordic country right next to Finland. Before becoming a counsellor
I worked in many different professions in Estonia, Russia, UK and Scandinavia, and studied clinical psychology at the University of Tartu, Estonia. My other long-term interest beside psychology and psychotherapy has been Oriental philosophy and practices - I have lived for a short while in a Buddhist monastery in Mongolia and have also participated in Zen-Buddhist retreats on Inishmore, a small island off the west coast of Ireland. I am fluent in both English and Estonian - in the past I have translated books and poetry from English into Estonian, and I can also speak Finnish and Russian. My other hobbies and interests include photography, and a wonderful moving meditation practice called 5 Rhythms dance.

I am currently a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and Society for Existential Analysis, and since summer 2009 I am also serving as SEA monthly discussion group organiser and a member of the SEA Committee. More information about forthcoming SEA existential discussion groups (which are open to everyone) can be found in the 'news' section of my website.
